Specifications

The 15 yard at a glance

Dimensions

16 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 4.5 ft high

Capacity

15 cubic yards — about 4–5 pickup truck loads

Weight included

2–3 tons in the flat rate

Driveway space needed

About 20 ft long × 10 ft wide, plus door swing

Debris needs to stay below the container's top rail on every size so our driver can haul it safely — that holds whether it lands on your driveway or, with a City of Appleton right-of-way permit, a public street.

Is this the one?

When the 15 yard is the right call

A 10 is often tight for a full garage or basement clearout; a 20 is more container than a single kitchen remodel needs. The 15 sits exactly in the gap, and it's also the second of the two sizes — alongside the 10 — rated to take concrete, dirt, brick and tile. If your heavy debris runs a bit past what a 10 can carry, this is the next and last step up for that kind of material, not a 20 or a 30.

At 16 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 4.5 ft high it handles about 4–5 pickup truck loads with a 2–3 ton allowance. For a mixed cleanout, a medium roof tear-off, a kitchen remodel with cabinetry coming out, or a yard and landscaping cleanup, it's usually the box that does the actual work without paying for space you won't use. Keep a yard-waste load as its own clean pile rather than mixing it into construction debris and it moves through disposal that much faster. The 15 also sits comfortably on the narrower driveways you find on some of the older Dutch-heritage streets around Little Chute, and just as easily on the more open lots you get elsewhere across the Fox Cities.

Straight advice: The size we suggest most often when somebody describes a packed garage or basement on the phone. It fits a normal driveway easily, it's the last stop for heavy material like concrete or brick, and debris still needs to stay below the top rail for us to haul it safely.

Ideal for

  • Garage and basement cleanouts
  • Concrete, dirt, brick and tile in a bit more volume than a 10 will carry
  • Kitchen or bathroom remodels including cabinetry
  • Medium roof tear-offs
  • Yard and landscaping debris, kept as its own clean load
  • Typical Fox Valley driveways with room to spare
  • Jobs where a 10 is tight but a 20 would sit half-empty

How it sizes up against the others

Same flat pricing model across all five. The real question is which weight allowance matches your material — heavy debris, roofing, or a construction phase.

Answers

15 Yard Dumpster questions

What are the dimensions of a 15 yard dumpster?

About 16 ft long by 7.5 ft wide by 4.5 ft high. It sits comfortably on most Fox Valley driveways with room to spare, which is part of why it's one of our most requested sizes.

Can I put concrete, dirt, brick or tile in a 15 yard dumpster?

Yes — the 15 is the second, and last, size rated for heavy material. Concrete, dirt, brick and tile belong in a 10 or a 15 only. If the load is dense, a bigger container does not help; it just costs more to move around.

Can yard waste go in a 15 yard dumpster?

Yes. Keep it as its own clean, separated load rather than mixing it into a construction or remodel haul, and tell us on the phone that's what's going in — it moves through disposal faster that way.

Do I need a permit for a 15 yard dumpster in my driveway?

No, in the great majority of cases — a driveway or private-property placement doesn't need a City of Appleton permit at all. Only a public street or sidewalk placement does, and we'll pull that for you if that's genuinely the only spot available on your lot.
